Dato’ Mohamed Ilyas, 63 years of age, is a Malaysian corporate figure synonim to the automotive and motorsport industry in Malaysia. His success trail began 30 years back when his company – Cartrade Sdn Bhd was offered, and accepted, franchise from a German top motor-vehicle manufacturer – BMW. Within 20 years, the company had successfully sold more than 90,000 units of BMW cars and motorcycles before they moved to a different car make – Volkswagen. As time passed, the company has grown tremendously and diversified their businesses and ventured into other corporate sectors. Bringing his more than 30 years’ experience, he founded Koperasi Amanah Pelaburan Berhad (KAPB) in 2014. He leads the cooperative Board of Director as Executive Chairman until present. Apart from that, he also sits in the Board of Director of the companies in both CTG Group and the MFI Group.

He started his professional racing career in Europe as Formula 3 driver in 2009. He had entered a total of 93 races during his racing career before retired in 2013. Inspired by his successful father and his passion towards motorsport industry, had led him to continue his family legacy in motorsport and motor trading business when he started his own automotive trading company in 2016. Apart from that, he sits in the Board of Director of the companies in the MFI Group.
